I am a fully qualified Counsellor with over six years experience counselling a wide range of people in a variety of settings and helping with many different issues.
Whatever your personal worries are, I aim to help you come to terms with what is happening to you and find a way through.
People generally experience me as a warm, friendly and calm person to be with and often relax quickly in our first session as they begin to tell me what’s on their mind.
I have worked in Universities, Sixth Form Colleges, a hospice, a general Counselling Service and Health Care. I have helped people with issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, periods of life transition, developing independence, loss of all kinds and relationship difficulties.
I look forward to hearing from you if you feel you would like to meet me to find out if I am the kind of person who can help you.
I have honed great listening skills and I work hard to tune in to what is troubling you and how you are experiencing the world at the moment.
I have a gentle approach but will also challenge you to think deeply about your experience and your relationships.
I will not give you advice or tell you what to do; we will work collaboratively to find the best way forward through your current worries. We will look at your existing strengths, resources and experience and how they might help guide you through your difficulties.
Prior to training as a Counsellor I spent over 15 years in the business world as a Human Resources and Training Manager. I love learning and undertake regular training and development to support my counselling work. I also have regular clinical supervision and personal therapy to support my work with you.
I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Person Centred Counselling from The Metanoia Institute, London. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their guidelines and professional code of ethics.
