After 20 years working in the NHS as a registered nurse and midwife I am now a fully qualified and BACP registered counsellor.
Counselling is an effective way of helping you understand, and resolve, any long or short term personal or emotional issue, which is preventing you from enjoying your life.
I provide a safe, confidential, supportive and nonjudgmental environment where we can explore the positive changes required to accept and move on with your life. I can offer help with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, low self esteem, health problems, disability, relationships and bereavement.
I offer short and long-term counselling for both adults and young people.
I work within the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) guidelines and ethical framework, and receive regular clinical supervision to support my work with you.
I use an integrative approach incorporating different theoretical models, tailoring my skills and techniques to meet the individual needs of my client.I believe that counselling facilitates change and personal growth. Together we will explore your patterns of behaviour and core beliefs linked to events in the past. This will lead to a deeper self-awareness, helping you to make small changes to overcome your difficulties, and lead a more fulfilling life.
Whatever your issue, you will be met with understanding, empathy and acceptance.
I have been working with adults and young people for over six years. I volunteered as a counsellor for a local charity and within a substance misuse organisation. I have worked in local primary and secondary schools for over 3 years counselling children with additional needs. I also run my own private practice working from home.
I attend training on a regular basis recently completing my Foundation for Infant Loss certificate.
